Spare for Change partnered with Member for a Day to support the 2024 Ka'anapali Classic Golf Tournament, hosted by University of Hawai'i, to raise funds for Ka'anapali associates affected by the Maui wildfires of 2023.

Completed at Eagle Ranch Golf Club in Eagle, Colorado on September 1, 2023 & July 6, 2024.
These events were organized to operate programs and player assistance that will benefit our golf nonprofit, Spare for Change, as well as our friends & colleagues directly affected from the devastating fires on Maui August 8, 2023.
Pretty much everything we have in our family life today is because of golf and the Island of Maui, especially Lahaina.

IN MARCH 2022, SPARE FOR CHANGE COMPLETED A UNIQUE FUNDRAISING EVENT OVER FIVE DAYS ON FIVE ISLANDS CALLED THE SPARE ALOHA 500. THE PREMISE OF THIS EVENT WAS TO PLAY 100 HOLES EACH DAY FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS TO RAISE MONEY THROUGH DONATIONS PER HOLE PLAYED AND/OR A FLAT DONATION BASED ON COMPLETION OF THE FUNDRAISER. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE, AN EVENT LIKE THIS HAD NEVER BEEN DONE IN HAWAII. OUR MISSION WAS FOR OTHER PGA SECTIONS TO FUNDRAISE AND EXECUTE THEIR MISSION OF GROWTH THROUGH GOLF.
SPARE FOR CHANGE SUCCESSFULLY RAISED $15,000 GENERATED FROM THE EVENT BENEFITING THE ALOHA SECTION PGA FOUNDATION, A 501 (C) 3, THAT SUPPORTS PGA MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATE ACROSS 85 COURSES AROUND THE STATE OF HAWAII. THE ALOHA SECTION PGA PROVIDES EDUCATION THROUGH THEIR TEACHING & COACHING SUMMIT, ISLAND NETWORKING FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT, JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIPS, AND SUPPORT TO THEIR PGA OFFICE TO ASSIST THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WES WAILEHUA, EXECUTE THE GOALS OF THE FOUNDATION.
